As I mentioned in my YouTube video on "How to work with Polymer Clay for Beginners", here is a list of some every day household items that can be used to shape and texture polymer clay. It is very important that your tools are dedicated for clay only, and not re-used with food.
This is a fun list to get you started. But as you work more with clay, you'll find more and more things that can be used to texture or shape your clay. (Not to mention the g'zillion of clay tools you can buy on the internet. And the cheap plastic ones work just fine.)
I've also included a reference chart of baking temperatures/times for different polymer clays.
